АAC COMPLETED WORKS FOR THE NATIONAL AGENCY OF THE PUBLIC REGISTRY OF GEORGIA

On June 11, 2018, a one-day conference was held in Tbilisi (Georgia) dedicated to the completion of the first phase of the project "Maps for sustainable land management: orthophotomaps of Georgia" financed by the Government of Norway through the Norwegian Mapping Authority.

 

As a result of the project implementation, AAC performed aerial photography of the territory of Georgia was carried out with a pixel resolution of 20 cm over an area of more than 44,000 square km2 and aviation laser scanning with a density of points of 2 tons per sq. m on the territory of more than 1100 sq.km2.

 

Based on the aerial photographs of the territory of Georgia, AAC created digital orthophotomaps (cover more than 60% of the country's territory) and a digital terrain model.

 

The transferred orthophotos were publiced in the public geoportal of the National Agency of Public Registry of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

 

Orthophotomaps created within the framework of this project can be used in many areas, including land cadastre, construction work, etc.

The Norwegian Government, the Norwegian Mapping Authority and the National Public Registry Agency of Georgia will continue their cooperation during the next phase of the project - Creation of digital line maps for part of the territory of Georgia, for which the Government of Norway has already allocated a grant with a budget of 2.5 million €.
